Choose Your Battleground: Faith or Fear

Choose your battleground: Is it battlefield of Faith or Fear

Choose your battleground

Before the armies (of old) goes to war, they never at any point in time neglect the choice of battleground or battlefield.
They never overlook its importance nor do they rush into battle without proper survey and understanding of the topography or the nature of the battleground, including its critical areas that concentration would be based in other to defy the enemies.

The choice of battleground often makes them to examine and to know exactly where and how the battle line will be drawn; how attack and defense will be initiated.
Also, fitting networks of weapons that are suitable for the particular ground are made known.

The same is applicable to everyone; we’ve got to choose the ground upon which our battle lines will be drawn, and where attack and defense will be initiated.

Christians and Battles

As Christians, the scripture says we don’t engage with flesh and blood…

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Definitely, our battleground is not a physical field upon which we stand to engage the enemies as with various weapons of war.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

YES: Jesus has won every battle, yes, he had given us victory, yes, and he has conquered the World, the Devil and his Cohorts for us. Definitely, we can say there is no battle again for us to engage in.

Colossians 2:14- 15 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

BUT, what about the Wiles of the devil that the scripture talks about. The wiles against which it says we should put on the whole amore of God.

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

The wiles of the devil are schemes and tactics the devil use to weigh down believers and bring about a discontinuity in their believe and total obedience to God.
Seeing that he has no real power and authority over them. The wiles of the devil are variants such as; fears, hopelessness, infirmities, torments, bareness delays, and all sort of temptations etc. many of which are carried out by his minions.

Hence, no matter the case or the battles we face, we’ve got to choose a spiritual battle ground.
For the choice of this ground will determine whether we get victory or defeat.

FAITH OR FEARS

Faith and fears are two opposing grounds upon which the choice we make between the two will determine whether we have victory or not.

THE GROUND OF FEARS

Trust me, many a people continue to struggle and struggle with the challenges/ battles of life for this one reason out of many, which is that they have allowed the devil to toil with their mind by embracing the thoughts of fear, impossibilities, and defeats etc. he speaks to them.

You know like: Will I ever make it, it’s not possible, I’m not up to the task, you don’t have the power and capacity to… and many other fear-like thoughts that hinders progress in life.

Fear, as you can see are False Evidences that Appears to be Real.
It takes away courage, boldness, power, sound mind, confidence, braveness out of a man and put in cowardice, weakness, fearfulness, faintheartedness, defeats, etc.
These being the factors that hinders victory in the life of a man.

NOTE: God is never pleased with a fearful man: “For He has not given us the spirit of fear but of sound mind and power…

Take for instance the battle between the Israelite’s army and the philistine’s.
The scripture says no one is bold and courageous enough to face Goliath in a battle because of his giant nature and his experiences in the art of war. Even king Saul, the finest warrior in Israel cannot stand to face him in a dwell.
This is because every one of them were under a spell of impossibility and cowardice that was brought upon them by fears of death.

See how the scripture describes the Goliath of Gath:

1 Samuel 17:4-7 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.

The truth unarguably is that; no one will be willing to risk his or her life by standing against him.
Nevertheless, the victory belongs to God when an inexperience (in the art of war) young boy who is fearless, bold and courageous came forward to face the enemy.

And that is what fear does; it incapacitates and subject to bondage; it brings about false evidences of defeat, and cowardice into the life of a man, it blindfolds one from anticipating opportunities.

THE GROUND OF FAITH

Without faith, it is impossible to please God… Hebrew 11:6.

Having victory over the devil and his minions requires pure faith in God of endless Possibilities.

“Faith is the grasping of almighty power; The hand of man laid on the arms of God; The ground and blessed hour in which the things impossible to me, becomes possible O Lord with Thee…  Anna .E. Hamilton

They who have genuine authority over the devil’s tactics and his cohorts; and victories over challenges of life are they who worked and walked with and in God on pure ground of living faith.

By faith in God:

  • Their weakness was made strength
  • Their littleness was enlarged
  • They have sound mind, boldness and confidence in God.
  • All things that look impossible to the natural man was to them of endless possibility.

SEE FAITH DRIVEN THOUGHTS THAT BRINGS VICTORY TO SOME PEOPLE IN THE PAST

…The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine...” 1 Samuel 17:37

… Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 1 Samuel 17:45. (David while facing Goliath).

“If only I could touch the helm of His garment…” Mark 5:2 (The Hemorrhage Woman).
Just Say the Word here, and my servant would be made whole at home… Matthew 8:8 (A Centurion).

You know what follows those faiths filled thoughtful actions up there, and many more that I couldn’t mention, they all have their victory.

Dear friend, trust me, it doesn’t definitely matter how big the battle or the challenges your facing may be, do not fret, nor give in to fear.
Instead, keep on trusting and believing in the God of your salvation. This one thing have in come to know: fear rob people of so many things; Joy, Peace, Victory etc.

Let therefore Faith be the battle ground upon which you stand in the days of adversity.

I call you blessed.
