IS GOD NOT REALLY PARTIAL?

 In view of the mighty waves of signs and wonders that God wrought through His generals; some known saints of old and the few present ones, one may ask, why do some people find God in a way that others do not? Why did God manifest His presence to some and let others struggles in the half-light of imperfect Christian experience?

MEN OF LIKE PASSION
James 5:17    Elijahs was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
Acts 14:15     And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you…,

 The truth unarguably is that, God is not partial in His dealings with man. His will is always the same for all of His children, he has no favourite and He is always ready (perhaps longing) to manifest His divine presence to any longing and willing heart. All He has ever done for any one of His children will he also do for all.

 Were they (Generals of old and the few present ones) chosen by chances or choices?
Too great preoccupation will it be if we take our time to analyse the mysteries of  election, predestination and the divine sovereignty; for they belong to the deep and mysterious profound of God’s omniscience. Prying into them may make theologians, but it will never make a saint. Hence, the best and safest way to deal with these truths is to raise our eyes to God and in deep reference say “O Lord, Thou Knowest”.

A quick look at the generals of old and the few presents ones; one would see that they are not the same in their race, nationality, education, temperament, habit and personal qualities, yet they all walked each in his days upon a high road of spiritual living. That is to say, their human difference has no significance in the sight of God. Hence, in some vital qualities they must have been alike (be of the same passion).

What is this vital quality?
I wouldn’t mind suggesting that the very vital quality they had in common was Spiritual Receptivity. Something in them was open to heaven, something which urge them God-ward. Without attempting anything like a profound analysis, I shall simply put that; they had spiritual awareness and that they went on cultivating it until it became the biggest thing in their lives. They differ from average Christians because whenever they felt an inward longing, they simply do something about it. They acquire the lifelong habit of spiritual response or sensitivity so to say. They were not disobedient to the heavenly vision. David put it neatly;

“When Thou saidst, seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord will I seek (Psalm 27:8)”
 “Seek first the kingdom of God and it’s righteousness and all other things shall be added unto thee”.

Alongside a high level of spiritual sensitivity is another important fact; "they seek simply and firstly the things of God and the kingdom of God".
Why many struggles in the half-light of Christian Experience?
I would not but also suggest without any profound theological analysis that; many Christians struggles in the half light of imperfect Christian experience wholly due to the presence of a self-life veil, a heart preoccupied with things and pleasures of the world, a new source of authority apart from the Word, insensitivity to the things and leading of the spirit, un-subjected will. Lastly, another glaring yet mostly unaddressed is diseases called “lukewarm”; a neither cold nor hot attitude; a falling today and rising tomorrow attitude.

Revelation: 3:15   I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16      So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Conclusively; many struggles in the half-light of Christian experience because they have not acquire the lifelong habit of spiritual response, they are lukewarm, preoccupied with Things of the World, seek not first the kingdom of God in their dealings etc. Hence, God therefore, cannot be blamed nor considered to be unjust or impartial in His dealings with His sons and daughters. He is not A to one and at the same time become B or C to another; He’s simply the same to everyone.
