THE DEEDS OF GOD
Some
People are led and were brought up under an Ideology where out of lack of
knowledge and understanding, God was portrayed to be a destroyer and a tyrannical
ruler (a despot). They were raised with the mindset that all the earthquakes,
tornadoes, floods, epidemics, tsunamis and famines that have ravaged lives,
cities and even nations are “the deeds of God”.
However,
the scripture makes us to understand that those are not deeds or acts of God
when it says; “Do not be deceived, my beloved
brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down
from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of
turning.” James 1:16-17.
The
scripture above gives us the knowledge that anything that is not good and
helpful cannot be nor come from God, for He is a good God, and His gifts and
deeds are good all the time.
It
is impossible for sweet water and bitter water to flow from the same fountain,
James 3:11. Hence, God, who is goodness
personified, cannot at the same time be the one responsible for the miseries,
destructions and catastrophes that takes place in the world.
The
bible makes us to understand that the real destroyer is the son of the morning
(the Devil). He is evil personified and the very evil one that is responsible
for all the terrible disasters and catastrophes that steal people’s health,
joy, money and peace. John 10:10 A thief comes to steal, kill, and
destroy. But I came so that my sheep will have life and so that they will have
everything they need.
1
Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring
lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Acts
10:38 let us know the kind of works or acts that can be ascribed to God when it
say; “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth
with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all
that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
The
Devil is the one responsible for the evil and oppression in the world today;
they are his works. But the Bible says in 1
John 3:8: “For this purpose the Son of
God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
God
loves His people and it is His pleasure to see them healthy, prosperous and
normal. You can trust Him even now to bring His unlimited power to bear on your
situation for you to receive a miracle.

SOME
TESTIMONIES OF GOD’S GOODNESS
He
loved us, He gave up His son for our sake, He gave us of His Spirit of
Goodness, He gave us His Word, He gave us eternal life and security. Etc.
John 3:16 For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
David
testifies that the Spirit of God is good: The very Spirit He has poured out on
men. Psalms 143: 10 Teach me to do thy
will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of
uprightness. Psalms
33:5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of
the LORD.
Nehemiah
also testifies of the goodness of God. Even when the people of Israel went
astray, He still goes on to bless them with abundance.
Nehemiah 9: 25, 35
25 And they took strong
cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all goods, wells digged,
vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit trees in abundance: so they did eat, and
were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness. 35
For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that
thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them,
neither turned they from their wicked works.
We
should therefore watch it; for ignorance of the good nature of God can serve as
a blockage from receiving His blessings. When our heart or mind is being crowded
with the thought that evil comes from God and He can make evil to happen to us,
His unlimited power to save us can be hindered, for wrong thoughts, ideas and
conceptions about God are springs from which the river of idolatry flows. And God
hates that.
Let
us therefore trust and rely on His great goodness alone and we shall see God
walking on our behalf. For God is good all the time.
Grace
to you.
